The fan is managed by the Pi 5 firmware, which adjusts speed based on CPU temperature to prevent throttling during heavy workloads. With compatibility for hats via a 16mm header adapter, it remains effective, though with slightly reduced airflow. Operating quietly at 3545 dB, it can function passively for short periods.
